"Becoming A Reiki Master" is a book that deals primarily about healing the body with life force energy. Eastern Spiritual Philosophy based, this book is intended for advanced students of the art. Take your time to understand the system and practice applying the principles. To put the healing methods into practice, you will want to read the book to add to your beavy of knowledge of Reiki methods and techniques. Like most books of this kind, there is no written guarantee that you WILL become a Reiki Master, but this is a great start!

A very well-organized overview of Reiki, it's history as well as what things to be aware of as you go thru your Reiki journey and things to look for as you progress. Concepts are well-explained. A great introduction for those who are curious about what Reiki entails

This book is a quick overview of how to become a Reiki Master. There was a quick history of Reiki and how it came about in the beginning and then goes into the requirements and thought process for being a Reiki level 1-3 practitioner. I like the part where the author mentions that this power/responsibility should be used to improve yourself and others. And that intention and motive are everything. Especially liking the fact that the author mentioned that this energy is present in everyone (if they learn how to attune to it and develop their skill), that helps reiterate that anyone can read this book and start on the path of becoming a master. My only complaint is that this books says it's the "ultimate guide", but it definitely could have more content, and delve deeper into everything, instead of having it as a quick overview. ( )

This book is a general but concise description what Reiki is and what’s the true purpose of practicing Reiki. This book gives a through description how Mikao Usai create Reiki and how the art of Reiki is passed on. Further more how Reiki is brought into United States. It’s a very fascinating story.
Generally Reiki has five admonitions and three levels. The five principles are the fundamental prerequisite for Reiki practice. Then next the three Reiki lever are explained clearly. The first one is Reiki One which is self-healing. Self-care is important for healing. If you don’t heal yourself how could you heal others. This level need a lot of practice and also you have first attunement. This attunement open up your main energy centers and channels, the chakra. Meridian and Nadis. After the attunement, theirs is 21days cleaning cycle which is another pillar for Reiki practicing. There’re also 12 hand position in this lever Reiki practicing. Level two Reiki prating has three important symbol as a booster for receiving reiki energy. The time from Level one to level two could vary from three weeks to one year. It depends how you deeply connected to Reiki energy. In this level reiki practice you also receive a attunement. This attunement help you receive strong Reiki energy this energy you could use for heal others. In the third Reiki level, there’s one master symbol associated with it. And this is the most powerful reiki level. After this you can attune other to become Reiki practitioner.
Reiki is a very wonderful healing art. Our human has both physical and energetic body, sometime when the energy channels are blocked it could cause physical and emotion pain. Opening up the energy channel and letting energy flow could gain physical and emotional health. Also the intelligence we receive from the universe could activate our consciousness thus help healing us physically emotionally spiritly. This powerful life energy is our true self. It’s also the deep connection with the almighty and powerful love from the truth. ( )

Becoming A Reiki Master starts off with a lofty claim that “this book will present everything you need to know about Reiki healing.” While the book does give a good overview, I think it’s far from everything one needs to know. A more accurate statement in the book is, “the purpose of this book is to shed light on the lessons contained within the three levels of Reiki and give you insight on how to use the techniques you’ll learn to immerse yourself into a life of Reiki. My intent is to inspire you to start your Reiki journey.” I certainly felt that I developed a good basis of Reiki, what to look forward to, and definitely inspired. This book specifically covers the Usui Ryoho Reiki system, starting off with the history (if a bit repetitive) of Reiki. The term attunement was brought up quite a few times in the first couple of chapters that left me wondering what it was, which was finally answered in the third chapter. I would have liked a deeper meaning of attunement earlier on, but I can see why the author waited until later to delve into it. The “Just for today” mantras were interesting, and something I think anyone can start immediately thinking about and meditating on even before receiving attunement. The book does cover what to look for in a Reiki master and what attunement is and what to expect for your first time, which I appreciated since I have never received Reiki. I would have liked to have more information about the pillars of Reiki, and to see the Reiki symbols that were described. I was surprised to learn that Reiki uses spirit guides. The book did clear up some misconceptions about Reiki levels, and there were several tidbits that were interesting to learn (such as Reiki cannot be forced upon anyone, the person must want it).

The book itself was easy to follow and the explanations were not convoluted or difficult. Many great examples of when to use Reiki and Reiki symbols were given. This being my first time to really explore Reiki, it seems rather simple and straightforward (although like meditation can take a long time to master). I felt like there could be more details and information, but perhaps Reiki is really this simple. I really like that the author was realistic with expectations. When discussing time commitments, being a morning/night person was taken into consideration. As a night person, I often feel forced when reading materials in this vein that getting up early and doing xyz is the best option when it’s simply not for everyone. The author doesn’t push the reader to strive for perfection either, and I appreciate that. I do plan on receiving attunement, and I can see myself using this book quite often as a guideline. I think this book would be a good guideline/reminder for those practicing Reiki, and a good jumping off point to learn more about Reiki without being overwhelmed for those that are curious or considering Reiki.
