The English translation of The Man of God clearly puts the dilemma and temptations of the pastor in Dumala, a short novel by the aristocratic German writer Eduard von Keyserling at the forefront. Dumala is an ideal choice for readers who love to read a snow-packed novel in the heart of winter. As the cover of the German DTV edition shows the rural setting in a snow-laden landscape, the characters's main mode of travel in the novel is by sleigh ride, drawn by horses. In fact, the story has a fairy-tale like character The dilemma and temptations of the pastor can be very vividly imagined, and together with the tragedy of the baroness, their psychological portraits are very real, and not without true drama. It is a pity Eduard von Keyserling finds so few readers on LT. His voice is entirely unique, and unlike novelists of the same period. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
