This book features photographs that allow students to create their own descriptions. I think this would be a full read aloud book to have students debate of what they think about each picture. ( )

I do love Hoban's photography - she really makes the concepts come alive and makes it easy to be a preschool teacher. ( )

Despite a complete lack of text, this was a great read aloud piece. Each page has a photograph, of various things throughout the book. This book is very interactive. From my understanding, one is supposed to ask children to describe the object in the picture. In the beginning of the read aloud I started by asking them if the coins are rough, to which they responded with "NO!", followed by asking them if the coins are smooth - they said "YES!" as well as for shiny. Throughout the book they came up with interesting responses. They came up with their own words, such as "bumpy", "turtley", "scratchy", "crumply", etc. They enjoyed this read aloud and I really liked the interactive nature of the book. This was an opportunity for them to play a part, which they love.

This book has no words. It is simply a series of pictures. I would use this in a science class. I would ask the kids to describe the different objects using different science vocabulary words. ( )

This book can be used since pre-k to third grade. for primary grades it is goog to buil up vocabulary, and being aware of the textures. For third, and second will be excellen to think about adjectives
