The pictures give kids the basics but then they are allowed to expand on what they are seeing. This is important because it helps with one of the main areas of play that is crucial and benifical to kids. I would recommend this book to younger aged students because it is a wordless picture book and allows students who are younger to engage in it easily. It is about a young girl and her grandma, the grandma gives her granddaughter a scarf which she then creates different items out of to help her along the journey she takes. This would be good to use in the classroom because it shows a story through only pictures and shows creativity and imagination by making so many things out of one object. This wordless book is about a young Navajo girl who saves her sheep. Along the way she becomes a women and goes on an adventure to get there. I think this book could be used for 2nd to 6th graders, I think you could make it more complex based on your age. I would use it in my class for a bunch of different things, like writing your own words to the story or talking about different tribes in our area. Primary A girl from the Navajo tribes tries on her grandmother's headscarf, and uses it to fly around the desert that she lives in, and by the end, the scarf becomes hers. This would be a good book to infer what is happening, as it is wordless. We could talk about the female empowerment and how that culture tracks ancestry through their mothers. You could do a lot with the illustrations in this book. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
