I did not like the story. One reason I did not like the story was because Thumbelina was taken out of her bedroom at night by a frog, and was told she was going to marry his son. I do not think it is appropriate for a children’s story to include a child being kidnapped in the middle of the night from her bedroom. Another reason why I did not like the story was a June bug came and took Thumbelina from the frogs because he thought she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Then when he introduced her to the female June bugs, they laughed at her and said she looked like a human. The June bug began to agree with the female June bugs and did not think Thumbelina was beautiful anymore, so he decided to leave Thumbelina on a daisy by herself. I also do not think a children’s book should include a child being abandoned just because others thought she was not beautiful. I did like the illustrations in the book. On each page there were large illustrations that took up the entire page, then on the other side there was smaller illustrations. I liked how the small illustrations’ placement varied on each page as well as their sizes. For example, one illustration would be in the middle of the text, and then another would be on the bottom underneath the text. I thought this was very interesting, and I have not seen anything like it before. The main message of the story was that everyone goes through hardships and challenges in life to get what they deserve and want. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
