This is an excellent book for children! The story itself is full of imagination. It is great for teaching prosody and to model fluent reading skills. ( )

Until this book, I had no idea that Seuss wrote other early readers under a different name Tho. LeStieg. LeSieg is Geisel backwards. He did this for books that he wrote, but did not illustrate. It’s a shame he didn’t illustrate this book. The illustrations are great, but I would love to see what Seuss would do. The story is fun, rhymes and BTobey did great illustrations. Just what a reader expects from Seuss. ( )

This book is about a little kid and how he wants duck feet. He lists all the reasons he wants duck feet. For example he would want duck feet because you can splash around, you do not need shoes, you do not have to keep your duck feet dry and it would help him play. Then after he lists the pro's of the duck feet, he begins to list the con's of having duck feet, which is his mother would never let him inside the house because of the mess the duck feet would make. When he realizes he would not be allowed to have duck feet he wants two deer horns. Again begins to list good reason to have deer horns. He realizes that he would not be able to get on the bus to school with his deer horns. He lists more things he would like which are a whale spout,a long tail, and an elephant trunk. He realizes once again he can not have all of those so he decide to put those all together and that is what he wants. At the end he ends up just wanting to be himself.

My opinion on this book is that it has a good moral to the story. The moral to the story in which I see it, is to be yourself and don't try to be someone else because that could cause some trouble. This book to me was decently entertaining. It had good illustrations along with the concept of the story. I feel as I would recommend this story to someone who is insecure to tell them it is okay to be yourself. I would also recommend this story to a younger child so they know it is okay that they can be their self especially growing up. Overall the boo was a pretty good book. I believe that people should read this book because it might help you out in some way even though it is targeted to younger people. ( )

When reading this book as a 19 year old, it seems silly. But I remember when I would read this book as a young student and I really enjoyed it! I think the rhyming is great for young kids, the font size is huge and the pictures describe what is happening! ( )

This book is fun and full of imagination. Students would find the animal part funny but would also be able to empathize with the main character when things didn't go according to plan. It highlights the importance of loving who you are and never wanting to change yourself. However, the book is long and can become a difficult read for students. ( )
