Stories were good, the writing excellent of course, but a little dated from a technology standpoint. Still, well worth the read. ( )

Good early collection of Clarke's short stories. These show the diversity of his ideas. This is why he is considered to be one of the best writers of the golden age of SF.

En este volumen se reúnen once cuentos de quien sin duda es uno de los principales maestros en el género. Son cuentos de temática variada, que exploran diversos ámbitos que luego han sido desarrollados también por otros autores, pero lo que más los une es el tono entre humorístico y paradójico de la mayoría de ellos, un rasgo que permite identificar sin posibilidad de error la narrativa de Clarke. Entre los relatos más habitualmente recogidos en antologías del autor o del género aparecen publicados aquí “Superioridad”, “Juego de escondite” o el propio “Expedición a la Tierra”, además del celebérrimo “El centinela”.

Really a lot of these short stories would have made great episodes of The Twilight Zone or Outer Limits or series like that. Good old-schools science fiction. ( )
