An LGBTQIA+ romantic comedy that wants to be wild, crossing fairy tales with BDSM say, but stays too safe and predictable to really catch fire. With that title, I was expecting it to be erotica, but it's fairly tame and limited when it comes to sex scenes. The story-within-a-story is a corny distraction at best. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Appartient à la sérieAlice In Leatherland (Vol. 1 (1-5))
"Alice, a young writer of children's story books, is hurtled out of her fairytale-like life when she discovers her girlfriend has been cheating on her! Charmingly defiant, she leaves her small forest town and leaps into a new adventure to seek love (and find herself) in the fast life of San Francisco. There, her concept of pure, magical love will be completely overturned-but her biggest challenge won't be reckoning with other people's sexual drive, it'll be getting a grip on her own! From your new favorite writer and artist team of Iolanda Zanfardino and Elisa Romboli, Alice In Leatherland is a comedy about sex and so, inevitably, about every other aspect of life, too."-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

The main story is about Alice, a true romantic, starting over in a new city after her girlfriend cheats on her. I really liked all the characters. Their personalities were firmly defined and a lot of fun; I just wish we saw more of them.
I get that the firefly fairytale was part of the story, part of what connected Alice and Robin's trajectories, but I felt it a little trite that it took up so many full pages when I would have preferred a little more expansion on the characters instead. I would have liked a little more on why Alice and Robin are even friends or like each other, and I desperately want to know more about Alice's roommates.
Elisa Romboli's art is lovely and expressive, perfect for the emotional and romantic Alice. Her lineart is so bold and clean.. My preference is generally for more colour in the graphic novels and comics I read; however, I did like the warm shades of brown. There were a few moments where I thought more colours would have suited the story better, but I respect the stylistic choice. ( )
