Holly Jolly: Campfire Stories (édition 2020)

Holly Jolly was a great collection of kids stories that would be perfect to read out loud at sleepovers. The synopsis says the stories are perfect for teenagers, but I think 9-12 year olds would get even more of a kick out of them.

They are pretty simple and straight forward, not the kind of depth an adult would want from a read, but to entertain the kids this is a great book to have on your shelf or e-reader. At this price you can’t go wrong, so I’d recommend giving it a go and seeing if your kids and their friends love it. ( )

I read this book after it was recommended by a friend. Holly Jolly is a very fun and entertaining book. It's enjoyable to read aloud and even more fun when read with movements and voices added for the sake of the little ones listening. This is a really good, slightly scary (bit not in a bad way) set of stories for young readers who love an exciting read-along. The illustrations are pretty good which just added to the fun and excitement.

Holly Jolly Campfire stories by J.K. Franco Jr. is an intriguing, fun, and imaginative collection of short stories. Each story is able to mix the fun and joy of the Christmas spirit with the mystery and excitement of spooky campfire stories. Franco exhibits a wonderful sense of story for such a young author. Each of the stories does an excellent job of creating a surprise twist so as to ensure you are kept guessing. I enjoyed each of the four stories but my favorite was the second story ‘Holly Jolly Christmas.’ If you are looking to get into the Christmas spirit with something a bit more unique, then I would highly recommend this fun read. Holly Jolly: Campfire Stories by JK Franko Jr. is the perfect novella thriller for young teenagers. As a teenager, the author writes mildly scary stories that will creep kids out as wicked items have an evil twist. An evil snowman who seeks revenge from a spiteful boy was my favorite spooky story. As much as we try to make snowmen symmetrical and magical, there is always a twisted look about them. Mister Puffinstuff gives just enough doubt to question your snowman. Holly Jolly Christmas makes one Christmas wish come true while manipulating a friendship. The View is a unique story that leaves you wondering how far the view master will go with his victims. Lastly, The Flight reveals how far superstition will take a person, at least until it comes true.

I love how JK Franko Jr. is following in his father's footsteps as an author. His stories show promise as a writer and the refreshing innocence of youth. I look forward to reading more from him. ( )

I love the One, two punch of a good campfire story this anthology they have a gotcha moment. I accidentally ran across these books while looking for a different Christmas book and I am so glad I did. I can’t wait to read more from this author I highly recommend this book if you love horror a good gotcha spooky moment you’ll love this book. It’s really an awesome book! ( )
