An imaginary book -- too good to be real. ( )

This is a nice early collection of Winsor McCay's most famous work. I respect "Little Nemo in Slumberland" for its fine art and groundbreaking influence, but I find it a very difficult read today because of the horrible lettering and the wildly antic storylines. And this book is in black-and-white, so the gorgeous art is presented to less than full effect. ( )

Little Nemo in Slumberland is a pioneering comic strip from the turn of the last century. Winsor McCay's work is fantastical and his artwork detailed and wonderfully painted.

This book reproduces 110 of these Sunday strips at full-size for the first time in history and the results are absolutely AMAZING.

If you love comics and appreciate beautiful art, this admittedly expensive book is a must have for your collection. ( )
