In 1901, Rhoe and her brother Cyrus -- both of whom have had minor appearances in a few Albion novels -- make a journey across the Atlantic. As expected, there’s a mystery, and a romance for Rhoe, and I liked both. I also enjoyed the portrayal of an ocean voyage (and of how such an early 19th century voyage might be different, more comfortable, if one had magic).
I’ve read most of these books quite quickly but I found this one easier to put down and ended up reading it in small bursts over a couple of weeks. I’m not sure why I didn’t feel an urgency to finish it. ( )
