I found this book to be ok. There were some quirky side characters, that I liked, but overall the humor didn't land for me, and the plot was fine, but not very engaging. ( )

This book does the impossible: it tackles sci fi topics without a hint of the usual tropes we see in pulp sci fi novels. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

Kevin Creager wrote a book about the type of experience I'd love to have if I ever time travelled. Wally Stephens meets some good friends, learns a few important lessons, and has a computer that's able to tell him reassuring things. The guardrails on the experience made me feel like it would have been a dream to go on a time travel journey myself.

The main characters are all fun and lovable. The relationships in this book develop as organically as possible. There are several scenes that made me laugh out loud and others that made say, "awww". Mr. Creager is obviously an astute observer of human behavior. The only characters who are a bit one dimensional are the bad guys. But the book doesn't focus on them, so it's not a huge deal..

I recommend this book to everyone. If you want to feel good while reading, this is the book for you. ( )

Time Out! by Kevin Creager is a quirky fun read, full of quirky fun self-discovery, mystery and a dash of romance all wrapped up in a quirky fun package of time travel.

Wally Stephens is feeling in a bit of a rut and fantasizes about shaking things up just a touch. Little does he know just how much his world is about to be turned inside out and upside down when he picks up the morning mail.

Wally may not get the results he thought he was after by seeking to change his life, but his wacky adventure is a fun (and quick) read and generally satisfying all the way around. There are even a few quirky fun Easter eggs thrown in for good measure.

If you like your time travel with a side of goofiness (or your goofiness with a side of time travel), you will enjoy Time Out!

This is a book that I wish I could have stayed up and finished in one sitting. There are many twists and turns that you don't always know what's going to happen next. It was such a good book that every time I picked up the book time went by so far.

It's part time travel, part science fiction, part autobiography.

The lengths of each chapter varied but they didn't feel too long. Some chapters were only a couple of pages but I think that's good so you can put down the book and pause if you need to.

At one point the main character uses two different names and switches between them during the story which did make it a bit confusing.

The book doesn't end how you think it's going to end, which is both good and bad. It could have ended on the last chapter and that would have been a good ending but they ended it on the epilogue which confused me. So I hope there is a second book which continues where the epilogue left off.

I do have some favourite sentences or quotes from the book, I'm going to try and not spoiler anything but there may be some small spoilers (you have been warned).
