So there are good and bad about this book. So starting with what I liked about the book and series. It was certainly fast paced, action packed, and full of adventure. It kept entertained for the most part and was a real page turner. The character were unique and sweet and easily loveable.

The not so great is also the pace while fast paced, it feel very forced. Forcing the book to move forward. But for me the worst part was the lack of norse mythology. Although its a main center of the book. It focused more on danger, magic, and adventure of the mythology than on the story of the mythology which for me was disappointing. For anyone not familiar already with the myths it would be easy to get lost. Also I found the ending to be less than satisfying.

All in all I think its a cute series and a great intro for children into the realm of fantasy genre but not really worth ever having to re-read. If it had not been for the fact that I read the first two I never would have read this book. I just couldn't leave the series unread. ( )
