Overall, this series is a meh. I almost gave up after book one. It has a certain nostalgia that reminds me of my teen years so I’d classify this as a guilty pleasure. The writing, the plot, and the characters aren’t super strong but it held my attention so that’s an accomplishment at least. ( )

A Court of Thorns and Roses...

I saw this book EVERYWHERE- TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, even Pinterest. I finally took it as a sign when my roommates girlfriend bought the first four books of the series and asked if I wanted to read it. I started reading acotar and I'll admit I was having a rough time getting into it, mainly because of a certain Spring Court Wolf but alas, I digress. A fun twist on a sleeping beauty story, Feyre [last name??] is the main provider for her family and during a rough winter she is hunting for food, a scarcity. She comes across a deer, an unknowing prey to 2 predators, one less dangerous than the other....

Without spoiling anything, things take a turn in the woods and it's not the best for all parties. Push comes to shove and she ends up in [Farie land?] and those prickly little thorns start sliding their way into the story. My favorite thorn yet is name Rhysand, HighLord of the Night Court. ( )
