I’m still enjoying the series and curious to see what’s next, I just wasn’t very sucked in this time. ( ) The Nameless Plot Thickens Review of the Amazon Original Kindle eBook edition (June 2021) I wasn't that impressed with the first season of Dean Koontz's Nameless (2019). Its main attraction was its being a free offer through Amazon Originals. The stereotypical and predictable tales of a Jason Bourne-like amnesiac vigilante enacting punishment on the wicked became tiresome and I gave up after the 3rd story out of 6. More background to the mysterious Treadstone-like organization behind the scenes and the Nameless character themselves might at least add needed drama and suspense to the proceedings. The 2nd season promised something along those lines. This third episode continued to show cracks in the facade of the otherwise seemingly omniscient vigilante organization Ace of Diamonds. Nameless (using yet another absurd non-cover name of Maxim de Winter of Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca) is sent out on a supposed 'easy' mission to shut down a barbarous puppy mill in Wichita, Kansas. The villains are suspicious though and Nameless barely escapes with his life. He continues to have visions of an apocalyptic future with the Triskelion organization and I continue to want to read on to discover what that is about. Kaleidoscope is the 3rd of the 6 short stories making up the crime fiction series Nameless Season 2, released simultaneously on June 10, 2021 as an eBook by Amazon Originals and as an audiobook by Audible Originals. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
