C’est toujours agréable de lire de la science-fiction venant de pays qu’on ne voit pas souvent passer dans nos bibliothèques. Beaucoup d’histoires dans ce recueil sont sombres, avec des morts, de la décrépitude, et du désespoir.
Certains traitements des sujets sont faits par une approche très classique des années 1960-1970, ce qui leur donne un goût d’ancienneté. Un robot est parmi et fini par se faire accepter comme humain, des robots placés au rebut continuent de vivre les vies artificielles qui leur ont été définies, les extra-terrestres arrivent et veulent nous exterminer, une dystopie à faire passer 1984 pour le pays des Bisounours… Heureusement que les histoires sont courtes, cela permet de respirer un peu.
Cette anthologie est intéressante pour son aspect multiculturel, mais les histoires quelle contient n’ont rien de bien particulier. Elles ne sont pas mauvaises, mais on en a déjà beaucoup lu des semblables depuis les années 1980. ( )
