There is a group of six teenagers who are on an E-sports team, but they need to be down to five. They are having a contest to decide which get to play in next week’s tournament. Big prize money is on the line. However, nothing goes according to plan when Cristal gets a message from a special app on her phone saying play my game or your sister dies. What proceeds is 24 hours of Cristal playing a game of life and death. A game of choosing who is more important, your family or your best friends. This is a thriller that moves quickly. While it is well done it, it’s more of a “why done it" then a “how done it”. Mainly because it’s obvious from the beginning what is bringing about this game. I also think it’s easy to tell who the real dangerous one is. However, it was still a fun read that many teens will find exciting. And while it does not exactly end on a cliffhanger, it does leave itself wide open for a sequel. I really thought this would be much more about a group of people playing a deadly game rather than one person, but it works together well and fits within its tropes decently. ( ) * I got this book review for the publisher* I overall really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a ver pull no punches thriller. This book was one that caught me be suprise in the first half, sort of GRMM... Nobody is safe book. I also really enjoyed the characters we meet in this read. I also really loved all the games at the heart of this read!! It was very quick read and one that I had hard time putting down!! Being in the main character head was hard at points but I am curious to see if we will see thesse characters again. It was really engaging thriller and def a new favorite by this author!! * I got this book review for the publisher* I overall really enjoyed this book. A fine example of the dread shared secret forcing teens to bond together with it slowly revealed as the other part of the plot unwinds. Five years ago Crystal and her friends were at a sleepover, but one boy who she was friends with outside the rest of those at the party, met with a tragic end. Now, she and most of the others present that night, are trying to qualify for an online gaming tournament with a big payoff at stake. Right before that happens, her younger sister goes to a weekend school trip. The next thing Crystal knows, she's getting scary messages, accompanied by terrifying images of her sister bound and gagged in a dark room. She's told that her sister will die if she says anything After the earlier tragedy, she vowed to make certain her sister always remained safe. Desperate to avoid harm coming to her sister, she embarks on a frenzied series of twisted games dictated by whoever has her sister. Believing her every move and word is being monitored, Crystal embarks on a desperate journey to keep her sister alive. The longer the games go on, the tighter she's squeezed, until she reaches a point where she's between that rock and a hard place. Toss in a couple dandy twists at the end and you have a really great mystery. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
