I have a tendency to collect books by MMP/Stratus as they tend to pick subjects that no one else is doing (at least in English), but I held back on making this purchase as I wasn't quite sure what I was getting. It turns out that this work is both broader and narrower than the title suggests. It's broader in that it really functions as an organizational history of the air arm in question, as the coverage starts with the Serbian military aviation force cobbled together after the Serbian military found itself driven out of its homeland. It's a bit narrower in that I had an expectation that it would deal with the biplane era of the force, but the authors don't quite get to detailed examination of the Hawker Fury. Besides the French and Czech machines that made up the bulk of the service's inventory, there is as much of an emphasis on the inheritance of World War I as anything else, and this turned out to be extensive. On the whole, if the topic intrigues you, this work is well worth acquiring. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
This book describes in detail the camouflage and markings of the day fighters used by the Yugoslav Air Force from 1918 to 1941. Aircraft of Yugoslav, British, German, Czech and French origin are shown. This profusely illustrated book includes many historical photographs and color profiles showing the colors and markings carried by the aircraft. Detailed color notes and precise description and illustration of national markings over the period complete a book that will be invaluable to aircraft enthusiasts, historians and modelers.More than 220 historical photos and about 160 color profiles (both volumes) Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
