Rowan is a kitchen witch nothing special in The Pale. Rowen goes as Midnight to the annual witches ball the night of Samhain. What follows changes everything because she choose Crow. Crow is half demi-god half-demon has no interest in more than passing fling with anyone woman and no more than a single night. When he goes to the witches ball night of Samhain he loses control and gives way more to Rowan than he planned. Can one night change everything? Does the fate of one witch really matter? When these two completely different beings emerge from that first night neither is the same and now they don’t know what to do without the other. The Paranormal romance is a very quick read. I completed it in three hours. In fact i could not put it down. I found myself wide awake in book recovery at one thirty am wondering what I was going to do next because I was not going to sleep until I could work through this little gem. The story flow makes this a great beach or cozy time read. There is a lot of adult content in this book. The sexual scenes can be a little graphic so show caution when picking it up. This is not for young adults even though the storyline itself is quite good and fans of Sarah J. Maas, Alyssa Day and Abigail Owens. I really feel you will find some enjoyment from picking it up. I was excited to see it is part of a series and I am out to track down the rest. I do love a good series and this one has already pulled me in. I would like to start by saying that the author is a fantastic storyteller. The imagery in the book and the language they use is breathtaking! I was blown away by the visions I got just from reading the words. It takes a lot for a book to do that to me, but this one did it and I loved it! Each and every page of this book kept me interested and there were so many great quotes throughout the entire book. I can't complain about anything, honestly. So let's get into the good stuff. The Souls of Witches has two main character, Lars and Rowan. The couple couldn't be any different. Lars comes from a very wealthy family and lifestyle and has always gotten whatever he wants, no questions asked. The kind of life we all want, right? Rowan has a very simple life and love spending time with her friends, cooking, and working in her garden. Lars is a man that she probably never would have paired herself up with. They end up meeting at a ball and they instantly feel a connection and a love for each other that they have never felt before. They do realize just how different they are and this becomes quite a problem for them, before long, they know that they want to be together, but aren't sure how. This book drew me in because of the world of fantasy, witches, and wizards. There are some romantic and sexy parts of this book, along with some very paranormal bits as well. This book takes everything that I love and adds it all together and I think this is the main reason that I loved it so much. I would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy, but also wants to read about some characters getting hot and heavy! This is a fantastic read all around! The Souls of Witches by Tarrant Smith is part of the Legends of the Pale series that tells us the story of Rowan and Lars. Rowan is a witch and Lars is a demi-god (sort of?) and a demon at the time. The story follows a romance that keeps you on your toes on every page. The book has plenty of romance that leaves your cheeks pink and wondering who turned up the heat in the house, but the author has a beautiful way of story-telling that holds the reader in place wanting more and more. Probably one of my favorite quotes throughout the entirety of the book is this, “Your blood is the drug he craves beyond all reason.” I will not tell you were that quote comes from. You are going to have to read this incredible book yourself. If you like the paranormal, mythology and romance, this will be your, “drink of choice” the entire time you are reading it. Another quote? Sure! “I can’t leave. There are two gods and a demon at my back who will not let me. And you made me promise not to run,” there we go, that is all you are getting out of me! The author clearly has a wonderful knowledge of paganism that I do not see with most authors who write about topics such as these, so it was refreshing to be able to read through this and not think to myself, “Well, that is not right but hopefully it gets better as we go.” Give this book a read, you are not going to be disappointed in the least! "As the story begins, you will immediately recognize that this writer is talented, knows how to put a story together, and pull emotions from the reader. The attention to detail is impressive, the inner dialogue balanced with narrative and exterior dialogue, and the imagery is cinematic.""This is a world you can easily get caught up in, and Smith should be applauded for world-building skill, which is the foundation of a series like this. If you can't believe the world, nothing else matters. But Smith masters it. The Souls of Witches by Tarrant Smith is the perfect example of a must-read paranormal romance." ( )
