Let me start out by saying this novel “The Dreams of Demons” is a mystical, magical, romantic and sexually explicit novel. I really like the plot of all varieties of beings, humans, gods, demons, werewolves and many more. The main character is a male demon who has dreams of a sweet woman. At the same time, the woman dreams of the male demon. They communicate together mind to mind even when awake and the plot is all about how different beings can live together. It seems like they cannot live peacefully because wars rage on for centuries. They too fight among themselves mainly for control. The couple demon and human have a relationship where the woman is very submissive and has to be obedient to her demon partner. I think it is sexually appealing giving oneself wholly to another but modern women today would chafe at the relationship where a woman is subservient to a male, demon or not. All the characters blend together to form a great story. In the telling of The Dreams of Demons sexual acts are described in more detail than I would like to read, with intimate acts and language that make this reader uncomfortable. Love and sex should be beautiful and not just insatiable lust. The story is a fantasy and enthralling in the telling. We all need some fantasy in our lives to escape from everyday worries and concerns. This is a book filled with drama, lore, adventure, magic, passion, romance, and mystery. There are a lot of elements in this book that will keep you turning to the next page. The author creates a world that the reader can dive in to, and also characters that the reader can admire and follow. The dialog is fairly realistic, for the genre and narration style, and the in between exposition is far from boring and in fact very well written. You will follow Gabriela as she embarks on a mystery and romance with a demon, who happens to be stunningly attractive. This book does have some intense themes and scenes. All in good taste though. You will definitely be glad you read it. This isn't the first book in the series, but it didn't stop me from following, even though I havnt read the previous books. There is a lot to devour and it takes an imagination to really enjoy this book. Anyone who likes this kind of stuff will ultimately love this book. Literary Titan: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The Dreams of Demons is the most unique book I've read this year in that it is set in modern-day, but involves gods and demons who have lived for thousands of years, so there is an ancient feel to it as well. Smith has been able to not only braid these two times into one, but the lives of mortals and gods as well, and she has done it exquisitely. Smith gives a bit of back story here and there, but not too much that would make the reader bored if they had already read the series in its entirety. There are only so many ways you can describe the act of love and lovemaking. But Smith has breathed new life into the classic romance genre, with steamy scenes enhanced by the raw power of a demon and a mortal who may have otherworldly blood in her. While reading you can feel the magnetism between Murmur and Gabriella. Their relationship was an enthralling escapade of emotions that I looked forward to." Appartient à la sériePrix et récompenses

"...Tarrant Smith's The Dreams of Demons, while part of The Legends of the Pale Series, can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel, as the author provides a cast of characters as well as a summation of preceding events in the story. I was not familiar with the series yet soon found I had a grasp of the continuing characters and their lives and was able to enjoy seeing how Gabriela's relationship with Murmur and the other beings she encountered was both complicated and a positive thing. Smith's characters are well-defined and complex, and the relationship between Murmur and Gabriela is thought-provoking and troubling at times. One can't help but get involved in Gabriela's story and wonder if becoming the possession of another vastly more powerful being is really what she wants or needs. The plot is marvelous and filled with unpredictable beings, plots, and complications. I especially liked seeing how Greek and Roman mythology ties into Smith's series. The Dreams of Demons: The Legends of the Pale Series is well-written and bound to please paranormal fantasy and romance fans. It's most highly recommended." ( )
