XCZ67J4S A good introduction to the history, ideologies, and the way that the samurai influenced and were a part of Japanese culture. There were some parts which were repeated earlier in the text and it seemed to not be reinforcing the ideas but merely filling space. Some of the information revolved around things which were overly mystified and may have not been true. As well there were quite a few typos, which may have just been my printing. All in all a good read and a good place to start learning about Samurai. This book is an informative volume regarding the history of the military ways of the Japanese culture. It feels like it was written as a junior reader or perhaps for a younger reader. I wish I could rate it higher than I do, but it becomes apparent as you read that the two authors did not communicate as they created each chapter separately. Information sometimes gets repeated and the order of chapters felt wrong toward the end of the book. The book has no real concluding chapter to the information presented. I make this book like a wikipedia article. Its a good place to start but you need more sources to get all the information. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

THE WAYS OF THE SAMURAI digs beneath the myth and reveals a truth even more amazing about the men who practiced a discipline drawn from Zen and Confucian ethics - bushido, the way of the warrior. THE WAYS OF THE SAMURAI presents all aspects of a Samurai's life: from training and culture to armour and weapons. It also recounts the greatest warriors including Oda Nobunaga a man of humble birth who at the time of his death in 1582 controlled thirty of Japan's sixty-eight provinces and had earned the distinction in Japanese history of being the first of the three great unifiers of Japan; and Takeda Shingen, a warrior whose Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
