Fall 2021 (November); ~ 2021 Hugo Graphic Novel Nominee Writing this review for both Vol 1 & Vol 2, as I had to read the first to be ready to read the second, which is the one on nominee status for this year. This story wasn't confusing, but it, also, wasn't very compelling. Found family & romance on a spaceship, thrown from one dicey situation to the next, while trying to take down an evil corporation and religious order that are in bed with each other. The love story definitely doesn't feel earned on either side. I liked the basic ideas here, though it does feel heavily Saga-influenced with all the zipping around and quickly sketched worldbuilding. It's about a space Amazon delivery crew, a nun who finds out her religious order is corrupt, and what brings them together. Christian Ward's art is beautiful, but I found the writing and the art made it a struggle to track the space Amazon characters as individuals, much to the detriment of the story. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

The story line is pretty great, is often humorous, and has moments of wisdom. Christian Wards art is mostly wonderful, full of vivid and popping color work although some of the action scenes of quite busy.
If you love action-oriented, space capers - you'll love this. Check it out. ( )
