Wow, she is one to watch. She came to art later in life but that artist part of her that is so enchanting to see must have been there all along.
-- Kristina Anapau (model on the cover) featured.
Regarding the fairy she played on TRUE BLOOD and how it affected her irl.
"Playing a powerful fairy, she says, helped her
develop a “Maurella-ness in my own life.” Maurella “made
me think a lot about how we can develop the ability to know
what other people are thinking and to trust our intuition—
and how the more we trust it, the stronger and stronger it
gets. Maybe fairies have just been at it for a longer time than
we have.”
"Plus, she points out, fairies don’t suffer the “bombardment
of advertising and commercials and GMOs and fast
food and things that really tend to suppress our power as
conscious beings on the planet. So perhaps the fairies have
been able to develop exponentially and cultivate these
abilities,” she says with a laugh."
Issue #34 is our floral issue, and features a gorgeous photo spread and profile of faerie actress Kristina Anapau, an original fairy tale (and knit) from Alice Hoffman and Lisa Hoffman, an interview with Kelly Link, a magical fairy tale from Jo-Ann Mapson, a sneak peek at Kinuko Craft's Beauty and the Beast project, chef Ravinder Bhogal's recipes with edible flowers, pieces on the magic of dew and the language of flowers... and much more!
