Beller's ability to transport readers back to another time and place with her vivid descriptions of the beauty of the Montana Mountains and the harsh living conditions that existed there in the late 1860s. Settler's Fort in the Montana Territory is the setting of Faith's Mountain Home and Laura Hannon is faced with some painful decisions when she finds that two of the men responsible for her recent kidnapping are now with her at the fort. Aaron Long is seriously injured and in need of medical care but can she set aside her painful memories to help him? His brother Nate regrets his actions and has turned to God but will Laura accept that he is truly a changed man? I admired Nate for his determination to change and Laura for her encouragement but it is their growing attraction that makes this so special. Faith's Mountain Home is a heartwarming story of faith, forgiveness, and redemption and it's the perfect way to end the Hearts of Montana series. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical Christian romance. I received a complimentary copy from the author via Celebrate Lit. There was absolutely no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts. Faith’s Mountain Home is the third book in the Hearts of Montana Series by Misty M. Beller. This novel follows Laura Hannon, who we met in the second book when she was kidnapped by a gang of criminals. Laura is trying to move on with her life after her traumatic ordeal and find purpose in her days. She longs to be useful to others, but she is not sure what God is calling her to do. To complicate matters, her job at the doctor’s office requires her to care for a member of the gang who kidnapped her and his brother, Nate, who visits daily. When Nate and Laura stumble upon an unexpected discovery, Laura finds her purpose--and budding feelings for Nate. I have loved each book in this series, but I think Faith’s Mountain Home is my favorite of the three. There is something about watching two people in desperate need of healing in mind and spirit find each other. It was a sweet, slow-burn romance, but what induced all the sighs and warm fuzzies for me was the significance of Laura and Nate finding affection after all they had lived through. I admired Laura’s determination to forge ahead with her life and heal her own hurts by helping others. She is such a gentle creature, and I was rooting for her to find happiness from the very beginning. Nate is such a hard-working man. Generous with his time and his possessions, he is always willing to help anyone in need. Trying his best to live a redeemed life, it’s encouraging to watch Nate’s young faith mature. This story may not have had the epic journey that I’ve read in other books by Misty M. Beller. But I loved it just the same. I don’t want to give away the plot, but like all of Misty’s books, there’s plenty of beautiful mountain vistas, adventure, danger, and sweet romance. If you enjoy Christian historical fiction, especially stories set in the West, you will love Faith’s Mountain Home. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations of a positive review. All opinions are my own. Misty M. Beller creates stories and characters that come to life through the pages of her books. Faith’s Mountain Home lives up to my expectations. Laura Hannon and Nate Long find themselves thrown together because of circumstances. The book combines drama, friendship, courage, and more to build a story that kept my attention. This book is the third installment of the Hearts of Montana series. Nate’s newfound faith leads him on paths to right past wrongs, along with looking after his twin brother. I loved how this book explored Laura and Nate’s interactions with a young Indian girl and her grandfather. With injuries to overcome at various points in this story, I wanted the two to come together. The book illustrated how through faith we can become the people God designed us to be. So check out this book for yourself. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. Faith's Mountain Home, by Misty M. Beller, is books three in the Hearts of Montana series. This story takes place in 1867 in the Montana territory. This story takes over where the second in the series ends with the same characters, so it is best to read them in order to get the whole story. The author does a good job of filling in the past for those who want to read it as a stand alone story .Following a kidnapping in book two, Laura is staying with the local doctor and his wife while helping him. She shot one of her kidnappers and he has been a patient since. His brother, Nate, visits him every day after working in the mine to pay off the people the gang stole from. This is such a good series. I enjoy the good clean story of a friendship that builds into something more. I especially enjoy see the change that takes place in Nate following his decision to follow Jesus. The determination he has to pay back those they stole from as fast as possible is remarkable. He lives in a tent and hunts for his food to work towards his goal and to pay his brother's medical bills. His time is so limited yet he finds a way to help others. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit through NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Nate Long has always watched over his identical twin brother, Aaron, even when it put him on the wrong side of the law. When Aaron is wounded in a shootout, the brothers are taken to Settler's Fort to recover. As Nate works to make reparations for their past, he marvels at the nursing Aaron receives under the care of a woman with all the reason in the world to resent him. Laura Hannon knows what it is to start over, and she knows Nate's newfound faith is real. What she can't look past is how far he allowed himself to be led astray by his brother's weaknesses. As a fledgling trust grows between Nate and Laura, they stumble upon a mysterious cave in the mountains that may not be as uninhabited as it seems. As they work together for a common cause, will the new lives they seek for themselves include love, or is there too much that stands between them? Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

While I read the first book in the series, I missed the second, but did not feel lost while reading this one (however, I always enjoy a book more when I know the full backstory from previous books). Laura’s kidnapping (in book two) has changed her, but she doesn’t want to become fearful or unforgiving, so she cares for one of the men responsible for her trauma.
Both Laura and Nate struggle with their pasts. Nate made a bad choice and is now paying for it (both figuratively and literally). He admires Laura and her determination, but he feels he is not a good enough man for Laura.
This is a book about how God redeems. No matter the choices we made, no matter our experiences, no matter the date on the calendar, God loves his children and makes them new when they cry out to him
