I was expecting much better from Christine Feehan than what this book provided. Unfortunately, this book was excruciating to get into and didn't hold my attention until well into the second half. I had quit reading CF because it had gotten to the point her characters were unlikable, most of the book was detailed sex scenes and very little story. However, this book is different. If she continues along this vein I'll be reading her again. Going off to see if this is the beginning of a new series. Stella has had to live for years with the fact that her nightmares are what brought down her serial killer father, leading to her mother's suicide. In the quiet of the Eastern Sierras at her resort, the nightmares have returned, meaning someone close to her is a serial killer and is about to strike down a fisherman. Her unrequited attraction to Sam, her handyman has gone on for almost the entire two years that he has worked for her, but now that there is a serial killer in their midst, Stella has to trust someone. When Sam is almost killed, she tells him about her nightmares and together, they set out to trap a serial killer. Highly anticipated thriller, Murder at Sunrise Lake, written by paranormal superstar, Christine Feehan should be so much better than it is. The premise of the story is interesting, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Too many characters come and go, whose story lines seem to go nowhere. The romance between Stella and Sam starts out as very believable since they have been dancing around each other for two years, but the heat between them seems lukewarm at best. While the regimented dreams leading up to the serial killings is an unusual take on this trope, however, it becomes little more than a plot device by the end of the story. Overall, Murder at Sunrise Lake is a big disappointment, leaving this reader feeling a very big let down. 2 1/2 stars aucune critique | ajouter une critique
