Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. When Sunday up and quits, the other days of the week put up an ad to recruit a new day. In Santat's candy-colored illustrations, each day has its out outfit and personality, and in the end, Sunday returns, thanks to a grateful little girl. "...with a little more kindness in it, every day can be a new day." Goofy, funny, silly, and sweet; a good read-aloud. This is Brad Meltzer's first work of fiction for children. This book is about Sunday, who has decided to quit being a day. She's done being a day. She wants to learn new things. The other days had to advertise to hire a new day. Soon to arrive are funday, monsterswhoresemblejellyfishday, bunday (everyone wears buns!), superhero day and other funny days. Then finally, a little girl says thank you to the days for being nice days, and sunday came back to be a day. Sunday has had enough of being underappreciated and decides to take a break, so the other days of the week hold auditions to see if they can find a replacement day for Sunday. While many of the submissions are hilarious, they eventually come to realize that Sunday just needed a little gratitude. This was a very funny book that subtly hides the message of showing kindness and appreciation towards others, while also giving room to one's own self for growth. The illustrations are cheery and colorful, with the characters of the days reminding me a bit of the emotions from "Inside Out." This is definitely a book that will make readers laugh, with silly antics for kids and clever puns for adults. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
