I loved the wintery setting. I read this right around winter and V day and loved it. I think I enjoyed book 2 more then book 1 and that was largely thanks to the characters. I also liked the magical elements that enchanced this story even it was not the focus. I also really liked the fairy tale that was featured in this read. I thought it was super fast pace read and one that reminded me of reading a list novels as kid but much better character arcs, it also had elements that reminded me of toyko ever after!! I liked this book much more and will def read more in this series! ( ) I thought this book was such a soild read. I loved the wintery setting. I read this right around winter and V day and loved it. Rating: 4/5 What started off as a slow-paced story about an entitled teenager and her attempts to get back at her ex by transforming a down-to-earth, knowledge-craving, chess enthusiastic introvert into a dashing people-pleaser turned out to overcome my expectations in a very good way. The book deals with identity crisis from THREE different angles and the growth that we see in the characters is immense. Character development is an essential part of any story for me and it was brilliant in this one. I am not usually drawn to YA straight Romances but there's something about Sandhya Menon that attracts me very strongly and this book only makes it stronger. The book teaches us that it is never too late to change and adapt kindness and also that sometimes change is the last thing you should do. But ultimately, being unapologetically yourself and being open and transparent with your closest friends will keep you grounded and sane. Looking forward to the final book of the trilogy. I really enjoyed this book. It can easily stand alone, even though it is a part of a series. I kind of figured out the character of Mia half way through the story, which really makes this a 4.5/5 stars for me. I loved that the Ice Queen was conquered by her heart and by a “frog”. Rahul was so sweet and innocent, kind of reminded me of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. It was nice to connect with the characters from the first novel in the Rosetta Academy series. I look forward to seeing what the author has in store for DE in the next book!! Second in the St. Rosetta's Academy series, this one continues the contemporary fairytale retellings, giving The Frog Prince a modern spin. Once again the setting is the elite Colorado boarding school and the senior students focused on this time are Caterina and Rahul, who featured somewhat in the first book in the series, Of Curses and Kisses, (a Beauty and the Beast retelling). Set a few weeks after the first book, the unlikely friendship between Caterina and Rahul is interesting and complicated with a bit of magical realism thrown in, as befits a good fairytale. The epilogue hints at another fairytale retelling in the same friend's group: can't wait for #3! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

YA. Love stories. Fantasy fiction. Caterina LaValle is determined to show she's still the queen of St. Rosetta's Academy. Sure, her crown may be slightly askew after her ex-boyfriend, Alaric, cheated on her, but she's a LaValle. She'll find a way to march right back in there, her hands clutching the strings to the whole puppet show. This time, she's going to be untouchable. Rahul Chopra knows that moment he shared with Caterina LaValle at the winter formal meant something. Surely she feels it, too. He's a little uncertain how someone like him (socially inept to a point way past "adorkable") could fit into her world, but he's loved Caterina for years. He knows they'll find a way. When Caterina finds out Alaric is taking a supermodel to the upcoming gala, she knows she cannot arrive without the perfect date. But the thought of taking another superficial St. R's boy exhausts her. The solution? Sweet-but-clueless Rahul Chopra and a mysterious pot of hair gel with the power to alter the wearer into whatever his heart desires. When Rahul tries it, he transforms instantly into RC--debonair, handsome, and charming. But transformation comes with a price: As Rahul enjoys his new social standing, the line between his two personas begins to blur. Will he give up everything, including Caterina, to remain RC? Or will this unlikely pair find their way back to each other?
