The Rightful Heir can never rest which Arthur finds out when he’s drafted into the Architect’s Army. Is this a political maneuver or just the bureaucracy of the house? Arthur must free the will, claim the key while fighting a new threat of New Nithlings ( )

Garth Nix's ability to create fantastic worlds and interesting characters is brilliant. However, I find the books lack as much tension as i would like. But I'm enjoying the intricacies of the overall plot and the politics between the positions of power. Arthur's character has developed a lot over the series, I cant wait to find out what he decides to do. ( )

Not much to say. Onwards and upwards for Arthur, taking on another of the Trustees and gaining another of the Keys.

Pretty much all of the problems in this book seemed overly easy to subdue, the Skinless Boy and Sir Thursday included. I think this has been going on for all of the rest of the books, but it seemed even more obvious in this one. Perhaps it's a factor of how relatively short they are?

Although on the flip side, setting things up with the Piper was interesting. I expected him to show up at some point, but this was a little different.

Also Dame Primus is totally going to be a problem. Called it here. ( )

Sir Thursday is General of the Denizen Army who has been engaged in battle with the Nithling Army for pretty much ever. This is all very predictable, but a new threat is upon the horizon. Meanwhile, our pal Arthur has been conscripted into the Denizen army and "washed between the ears" so he doesn't remember who he is and what he needs to accomplish, nor even that he should probably avoid Sir Thursday.
This isn't my favorite one in the series as it mostly involved Arthur's military training, and seemed to lag. ( )

For once, it's not the Morrow Days causing trouble for Arthur, but the Piper is instead. Sir Thursday goes kind of psychotic at the end, but he's a military Denizan and tends to stick with regulation, which keeps him from actively trying to harm Arthur. The Piper is one of the Architect's three children, so he has actual power, and it seems that he thinks that he should be the Rightful Heir. Apparently he's been trapped in Nothing for a few hundred years as punishment for trying to free the Old One (his father), against Lord Sunday's wishes. I'm not sure if this is just sibling rivallry, or whether Lord Sunday was right to lock him up, but I'm sure the Piper will continue to cause problems because he has sway over the Piper's Children and the Raised Rats in the House.
