I confess, while I am a huge fan of James Dashner this conclusion to his newest trilogy was a bit of a disappointment - but perhaps it isn't fair to compare anything to the Maze Runner trilogy!. The first two books were intriguing...and confusing at times. While Michael's character felt flat at times, I suppose this could be expected given who (or what) he was. It was a pretty intriguing book that could also become a bit slow at times, and confusing at others. Who WAS the good guy? Ok, I got it...or do it. What the heck is going on? I admit, it is an amazing world he has created and how they are coding is pretty imaginative. He does a great job at wrapping up all the loose ends in this final chapter, with plenty of twists and turns. The book truly picks up the pace in the final third. I enjoyed the book - but I'll be awaiting his next book (or rereading the Maze Runner) with greater anticipation. I was provided an eARC of the book in exchange for my honest review. I was so looking forward to this book. This series just felt differently than the Maze Runner and I enjoyed it more. However, this book sucked. Lacked direction and really felt like James Dashner didn't know how to finish this book. Because of this, I've come to a conclusion: James Dashner isn't a closer. He is a creative genius and fantastic set-up author, but wrapping up the story is not for him. I will read this story again (because I loved the first two books), but I can't say if I'll ever read the conclusion again. This was a fun series to read! If you like the Maze Runner series, you will love these books. This was a nice conclusion and a quick read. The story was well paced and had plenty of action to keep me interested. Michael, Sarah, and Bryson are now tasked with saving every person who uses the Virtnet from having their bodies stolen by tangents. They're still battling Kane, but have a new villain as well. James Dashner's writing is so interesting and just makes you want to read the book in one sitting. I listened to the audiobooks and the narrator did a great job with subtle voice changes and making you feel like you're inside the book. Highly recommend these books! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
