I have to say I didn’t like this as much as I did from Bella’s perspective. It was ok but still same as the others. It was eh. ( ) It was more like 3.5 stars but I rounded up. Like most twilight fans I have waited for 12 yrs for this book to be finished and published. I like Edwards perspective a bit better than Bella's. There were a few times where I thought Edward's angst was a bit over done and that Edward was completely oblivious. Expecting Bella to be terrified of his sparkle in the sun. I mean what teen girl is scared of sparkles. I also felt that there was some parts of the novel that were overdone and that certain things could have been omitted and the story would have progressed just fine. SO GOOD. Reminds me why I liked the first book so much. Much slower paced than the first one, but not in a bad way. Meyer's ability to pace her novels is really impressive- the chase scenes are page-turners, the more serious discussions are much more contemplative. It's great. It makes me want to reread the first novel again. Okay so don't judge me I read this. Yeah so what? I read the other ones too. Got a problem? Did I love them? No. I am not even sure I enjoyed them. Are there flaws? Um yeah! It's Twilight. Without flaws nothing about this series could exist, within the pages or without. Is this just a guilty pleasure? I don't know. I'm not sure pleasure is the word I would use. Pleasure like the summers first sunburn I suppose. Guilty because you knew batter. You heard the song "wear Sunscreen" but you went without it anyways. So the good of this was seeing a more complete development of the Cullens beyond Edward. Filling in some of those gaps in Midnight Sun is the fifth book to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. It is the first book told from another characters point of view. As the main series is from Bella’s point of view, this one is from Edwards. It showed a deeper look in to the Cullen family and their action packed adventure with the enemies of their kind. I liked this book as it went more in depth in the family atmosphere of the Cullen family and had more action in it. Bella’s point of view was more curiosity and learning in Twilight. Midnight Sun from Edwards’s point of view was more supernatural and plot based. I liked the second half more than the first. The first half was a lot of Edward obsessing over Bella. The second was more his struggle with his immortal status and the chase with the enemy. There wasn’t much that I didn’t like about this book. The first half was a little bit too much of Edward’s obsession and very repetitive. I think it would’ve been better if Meyer did one book that flipped between both Bella and Edward’s point of views. I also think I would’ve liked the entire series better if it was mainly from Edward’s point of view. ★★★★★ I would recommend this book, after reading the first one from Bella’s point of view. I would recommend sandwiching it in between Twilight and New Moon and not reading all four and this one after. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

-- [Renaud-bray].
