This book, Arthur's Family Vacation, is about the main character getting out of school for summer and is going on a family vacation. Little does his family know, he is not looking forward to his family vacation at all. Each step of the way, the vacation was getting worse and worse and Arthur was not having it. I think that this book would be a great way to show children that even when there is a bad situation or something they do not want to do, they need to find the bright side of things and enjoy what is around them. I would probably read this book at the end of the year going into summer. ( ) School is finally out, but Arthur isn't excited. While his best friend Buster gets to have fun at summer camp, Arthur is stuck going on a vacation to the beach with his family. The vacation is a disaster, with a small motel room, small pool, and at ever turn Arthur misses Buster more and more. Endless rain seems to stop the trip in its tracks until Arthur gets ideas for field trips. He has so much fun that he forgets about missing Buster. When he finally comes home, he has many stories to tell to his best friend. Arthur really makes good of a bad situation. He bemoans going on the vacation at first because he wants to have fun with Buster. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong and the rain makes going to the beach impossible. But Arthur really steps up when he starts suggesting things to go do and see while it rains. He and his family have a blast and, once the rain ends, have a great day at the beach. His summer didn't go as planned, but Arthur still found ways to have fun and cope with the separation from Buster. When school let's out for summer break, the last thing Arthur wants to do is go one a family vacation. He'd rather spend time with his friends or go to camp with Buster. Just when it looks like the rain will ruin the Read's Florida family vacation, Arthur starts finding fun sites to see and things to do that even the rain can't wash away the fun. Family vacations can be fun after all! Arthur is unhappy about going on vacation with his family, without his best friend. However, he shows them how to make the best of a bad situation when they end up stuck in a motel because of rain. This is a good fantasy book because animals can talk. The author stands on the animals' view, tell a story about family vacation. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
