In Eve Bunting's "I Like the Way You Are" Turtle and Spotted turtle are best friends and they spend all their free time together. Best friends don't always think alike, and there are many differences they face with their everyday activities. Somehow, by coming together they always find a way to compromise. They know that whatever they do will be more fun doing it together and they decide on ways to make sure it works. The book is divided into mini chapters all talking about different parts of their everyday playdates. You do not have to like the same things in order to be friends, and you can be yourself in front of your friends. They do not judge one another and have the best of times together. ( )

A simple but effective book teaching about friendship and compromise, with perfect illustrations to back up each page! I loved the book and think the lessons taught in each little story are effective in their own way. ( )

I Like the Way You Are is about two turtles who are the best of friends. The friends do various activities together. During these activities, one friend is usually horrible at the task while the other is great. Neither of the turtles make fun of the other one for not being good at the task. Another adventure takes the friends to the movie where one friend likes butter on his snacks and the other does not. The two friends compromise to make each other happy. I think this book has an excellent message to young children. It shows children that even though someone has different tastes and talents, they can still be great friends. ( )

A cute little book about how two friends learn to compromise. A good book for children to learn a lesson. ( )

I really thought that this book was cute. It shows the love and mercy between two really good friends and how they accept each other regardless of each one's capability. They are each good at certain things and have opposite feelings about somethings. This is a good book to read to young children to allow them to see what good friends should look like. This book sets a good example. ( )
