Fiction. Literature. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) A grouchy mountaineer, a Hollywood starlet And miles of untamed wilderness . . . What could possibly go wrong? Former Hollywood darling River Lane's acting career is tanking fast. Determined to start fresh behind the camera, she agrees to film a documentary about the picturesque small town of Moose Springs, Alaska. The assignment should have been easy, but the quirky locals want nothing to do with River. Well, too bad: River's going to make this film and prove herself, no matter what it takes. Or what (literal) mountain she has to climb. Easton Lockett may be a gentle giant, but he knows a thing or two about survival. If he can keep everyone in line, he should be able to get River and her crew up and down Mount Veil in one piece. Turns out that's a big if. The wildlife's wilder than usual, the camera crew's determined to wander off a cliff, and the gorgeous actress is fearless. Falling for River only makes Easton's job tougher, but there's only so long he can hold out against her brilliant smile. When bad weather strikes, putting everyone at risk, it'll take all of Easton's skill to get them back home safely . . . and convince River she should stay in his arms for good.… (plus d'informations)

These are still so fun but this one's dangerous decisions were a little too much, it was still very fun though ( )

River Lane knows that pushing 30 means her acting career is on its last legs, so she decides to pursue a job behind the camera. The only assignment she can get is a documentary based on the town of Moose Springs, Alaska. When the town refuses to cooperate, River decides that filming a climb up the local mountain called Mount Veil might be just as good. Easton Lockett loves to climb mountains and has made a career as a guide, but when he is hired to take River and her film crew up "The Old Man," Easton wonders what he has gotten himself into, especially since he finds himself so attracted to River.

Enjoy the View is filled with romance, action, adventure, and drama. The characterization is well developed and the plot is enjoyable. The right amount of conflict keeps the pages turning as the romance heats up between River and Easton. The tricky task of pulling off third person POV, but still maintaining two separate perspectives is masterfully done, but does create some distance between the reader and the characters. Overall, however, Enjoy the View is an exciting romantic adventure that includes both sweet and suspenseful moments. ( )

This is the best book of the series so far. This book tells Easton’s love story. But it is so much more than just a romance. River Lane comes to Moose Springs determined to film a travel documentary. The folks in Moose Springs could care less. Really. They care less that it gets made. So much so that River and her two man crew, Bree and Jessie, are getting nothing but the same stretch of road. Then River decides to climb a mountain and Easton is her guide.
This has so much dramatic action in it, I was holding my breath turning pages as fast as I could. I live in Alaska though not in the part Moose Springs would be located. I know much of what was put in is not reality. But the author did an amazingly awesome job with what could be reality and the dangers of the climb. The deadly cold, the wind, the inability to see your hand in front of your face...the author wrote that so well I felt it. I was on that climb with River and Easton. On a less intense note there is a cute marmot who plays a love rival and that was incredibly fun.
If you have read the series, you definitely don’t want to miss this book. The grumbling of the town’s dislike of outsiders is still there but the dramatic climb drowns all that out. I have no idea how the author will top this book. If you haven’t read the series, this is the most intense of the 3 books and the short story. The others are more rom com focused. They can be read out of order but you miss out on the fun of the other books. They also help set the stage for the way the town feels about outsiders.
I’m looking forward to the next love story. Who will it be? Ben and Bree, maybe? The one I think I most want to read is Ashtyn’s though. It’s definitely going to take a special person for her.
*Thank you to Juneau Public Library and the Alaska State Library system for getting this book to me. Support your local libraries. They are amazing places and still very much needed. If you haven’t been to one in awhile, check them out. Several have online websites, too. Download the reading app that your library uses and you can borrow books to read on your device.* ( )

The Story:

Not the best thing I’ve ever read but quite enjoyable. Easton deserves a happy ending and I’m so glad he found it with River. There is so much adventure out on this mountain and I really wanted to see the finished documentary. I can admit I was a little in love with Easton myself by the end of this book. I can’t believe anyone wouldn’t be.

I really loved the first book in the series, thought the second book was only okay, and I pretty much hated this book. Like many other reviewers, I disliked the heroine, River, a lot right from the beginning. I wanted to give her a chance but she only got brattier and more entitled as the story went on, not caring about endangering herself or others despite being repeatedly warned.
I really liked Easton in the first two books and the beginning of this one, but by the end of the book, I had lost all respect for him too. Because he thought with his little head rather than his big head, he allowed River and her crew to run roughshod over him. He's supposed to be a professional, yet he let them disregard his rules and warnings with no consequences. It was infuriating. I know this is supposed to be fiction, but none of the constant rulebreaking was funny or added to the story, except to put them all in situations where one or more would get hurt or worse. One thing if there was an avalanche or storm they couldn't avoid, but when the danger comes from their repeated disregard of safety rules, it makes for a silly story.
When you add in that there wasn't much of a romance, I was really disappointed. The lust pretty much stayed lust. Though this is a clean book, it was obvious the couple never tried to learn much about each other despite being very different persons. They never talked about the future, the kind of things they might pursue if they were really in love.
Then they changed the documentary into a Hallmark movie. For me, that was the final reason I needed not to buy any more books from this author. It makes me sad because I thought she had a lot of promise with The Tourist Attraction, but the direction she's going with the series is just not for me. ( )
