This is an excellent book that I highly recommend to anybody curious about the Prime Ministers. Hilarious, blunt, yet accurate and shrewd, this is a book well worth reading. ( ) A look at Canadian history with a humourous and cynical twist, fun to dip into and debate. Arguing that every one of Canada's prime ministers was either a bastard or a bonehead, it sounds like a debate that started in a bar and grew into a book. Ferguson claims that every Prime Minister was terrible, either because they were maliciously Machiavellian schemers (bastards) or bumbling incompetent idiots (boneheads). In arguing the case for each Prime Minister, Ferguson does convey a lot of details of Canadian history and politics, so it's an interesting read but leaves a rather bitter taste in the mouth. To me, this is Will Ferguson at his best -- making Canadian history come alive. Ferguson covers Canadian history from early European settlement to the present day, weaving together the policies and personalities that helped shape Canada. The book is humorous, informative, and pretty interesting -- a great way to learn more about Canada. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
