A little pendantic at times but still great reads from a master storyteller. ( ) Well-edited for today's reader. The three books include: Annals of a Quiet Neighborhood, first published in 1866 as a magazine serial; The Seaboard Parish (1868) and The Vicar's Daughter (1872). We meet Harry Walton as he begins his ministry, falls in love, and, in the next book moves his family to the Cornish seacoast where he is substitute for an ill vicar. He gets more than he bargained for when his daughter falls in love. The last book follows his daughter Winnie to London, as she and her husband raise their family. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
