Well done and wonderfully visceral. ( )

Warnings: ATM; urophagia; short episode of twincest (same sex, of course).

First two items from the warnings is very much not my thing at all.

Shaming and humiliating a guy by putting him in women's clothes is also not my thing.
Nothing wrong with women's clothing as far as I am concerned, no matter how skimpy. Anyone heard of humiliating a woman by putting her in men's attire? I certainly didn't ....unless it's to "empower" her, not the other way around. Maybe I am missing some point here, but that's my opinion on things, hence 3.75 stars instead of 5. ( )

This is one of those reviews I struggle with. Did I really enjoy the book? Well no, not as such. The subject matter is dark, confronting and shows a side of humanity that we'd often rather not acknowledge I think. There's a strong element of dub-con and the only thing that saves it from being non-con is the fact that one MC signed the contract thus giving his consent. Coercion, mind-games, and psychological conditioning all are part of this as well and none of it makes for a comfortable read.

However, the book was compelling. The characters were extremely well-written and intriguing to get to know. The setting is sci-fi which helps alleviate some of the discomfort I experienced while reading this. But, to be honest, I believe that this is a book where the author doesn't want you to be comfortable. It's meant to be confronting. It's dark and sadistic and unashamedly so. Do I want to read it again? No, not really. Having said that, I'm definitely looking into the next book of the series, because I honestly do want to read that one. I suppose I do have a bit of a masochist in me, lol. ( )

It was an alright book - this was definitely interesting and intense, it was weird and wicked, it was just not my thing fully - I liked some parts, but the relationship they had (granted I get why it was how it was) was just ridiculous, Alex read like a teen and Tracht was over the top with things that he did - though the ending was alright I thought it could have given me more - I called a few of the "twists" too......... OMFG. OMveryFG. I was really just amazed about this book. I'm pretty sure that I'm supposed to think that Tracht is a monster, but I'm pretty sure I really don't. A hardcore sadist, yeah, I mean hardcore sadist, but not a monster. I realize that not everything has this view, but it works for me.

Alex had to sell his bond contract to pay off a huge debt that his twin brother ran up. He's willing to sell himself for 5 years, including all his bodily autonomy. He has very few limits as to what can't happen to him, and that's clearly listed in his contract.

Tracht is looking for a new bondservant. He has very... particular tastes, and the bondservant he had had didn't work for him. He liked what Tracht did a little too much for Tracht's preferences. When he sees Alex, he knows that he has found the perfect person.

This book left me gasping and gagging. There were times it was really intense. There are characters that I don't really like. I hate Singh, and I never really trusted Parsons. I want to find more by this author. ( )
