This book is an intense emotional journey that had me crying, gasping for breathe, and wanting to throw punches all at once. This story follows Kallie and Jacob who are high school sweethearts, the town lovebirds, and perfect soulmates but one night at prom changes it all. This night Jacob helps a friend because he is a loyal and a sweet man, he just didn’t know how devastating it would actually be on his life until Kallie runs from him and doesn’t look back. After having her heart shattered and leaving town from the man she loves and hates Kallie has spent 8 years away until she has to come back to help a friend out. This was such a tragic and beautiful story where both characters like to think they hate each other but once they are brought back together their souls know it was never truly over. Secrets are revealed and healing starts to begin but a few characters had me fuming mad and I think it is going to take a lot for me to find redemption in them and their half attempted apologies for ruining two people’s lives. I’m looking at you Savannah and Cristine. I was so happy that Jacob and Kallie work things out because no two people deserved to be together and happy than these two because of all the time that was wasted, miscommunications, and tragedies along the way. I can’t wait for the next book which will be a different couple but I’m hoping we get more answers to questions that we didn’t in book one like the mysteries surrounding Olivia, will the secret of Savannah come out, and how will everyone cope with it all?!? ( ) This book annoyed me so much. The Hero and heroine are young but his actions...... Grrrrr. He has a close friendship with another woman and he allows his girlfriend who he intends to have a future with, think that the other woman is having his baby. Plus the whole town thinks it too. So you have to balance the feelings of his friend, who made the mistake of trusting a man who didn't care for her when she got pregnant against his girlfriend who now thinks he's cheated. Balance between the other woman being the source of town gossip or your girl... No contest, you'd think that wouldnt you but no he side with other woman. The heroine doesn't really give him a chance to explain but at the same time when he does it's 'things are not as they seem but he's my son' He makes a promise to the other woman not to share the truth for the sake of the child. I understand wanting to protect the child from gossip but surely that has to be weighed against the heroine looking like a chump for not being enough for him so he had to look elsewhere. When they finally, discuss the truth, there is angst but then it's all sorted. I felt she should have held out longer once she knew the truth and although there are words with the other woman I would have liked to see her get a bit more backlash. There is a positive, both Hero and heroine are celibate during the separation of I think 8 years. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series. HEA. Epilogue. I'm sorry this review goes contrary to others but I was so irritated and it's rare for me to give below a three star rating. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
