Unfortunately, I found the overall story choppy, and I feel like much of the blame can be placed on the artist. Let's face it, graphic novels need a good story, but they basically live and die by the art and, in this case, as far as I'm concerned, the art killed it.
There's times when the artist, Adam DeKraker, delivers some stunning visuals. Unfortunately, they're few and far between, with much of the art feeling rushed, and basic anatomy and proportion ignored. At the same time, he seems to, instead of flowing the story forward, make mad leaps. There's a page where one of the vampires is naked and, with no transition, and the conversation still flowing, he's then wearing pants.
As well, not to sound sex-starved, or perverted, but the story does contain a lot of sex. I felt that DeKraker's art backed away from Kilpatrick's unflinching words.
Still, taken as a whole, it's a neat little vampire erotic romance. ( )
