Since this is a series, I'm going to save my overall opinion for the end of the series. But where I'm at now, I'm actually loving this particular series. God I say series a lot don't i? Lol. But seriously I absolutely love victor. How many of you out there love victor? I also am intrigued by oscar. Aaron is a pussy cat Callum is just a sweetheart. But when it comes to danger I think that Victor and Oscar are pretty scary. And heil is not what I thought he was at all. ( )

Had to re-read to refresh my memory for the sequel. Since I am certainly not in the target demographic for this book (young/new adults) I found more to bitch about then they would so I guess this review will be to the older readers.

1. These are high schoolers under the age of 18, mostly just under 18 or in the case of the heroine a junior and very 17.

2. They act and are portrayed as being baddasses and the heroine spends the entire book making sure the reader and everyone else doesn't forget this fact.

3. Back to the high school, I kind of had a bit of trouble reconciling the fact that these very adult looking and acting characters are having chocolate milk in the cafeteria.

4. OTT Characters.

Each male character (there are 5) is described in such a way as that the whole of the group could be in a K-Pop band. Everyone has tattoos (nevermind that they are under 18) that are extensive enough to show on any bit of skin not covered up, including the neck.

The guys are all either tall, shredded, very attractive, well dressed, everything, and each guy is a "type".

Hael - the quiet one with scars and voice damage that causes him to have a kind of deep whisper for a voice. He is the one who is the most up for violence, but he has a hidden "soft" side.

Aaron - the former "Disney Prince" with blonde hair, and blue eyes who used to be preppy and "normal" but has shed that to become a bad boy in the group. His father is dead and his mother ran off to parts unknown leaving him with his 5-year-old sister and 2-year-old niece.

Victor - the 6'5" leader of the group. He has his reasons for doing things and isn't always transparent about it. He is the main love interest. He is the baddest ass of all the baddasses. He lives with his father who is portrayed as a drunken, overweight, easy to dominate and order around kind of lout. What Victor says goes. Victor is always dark and broody. He rides a Harley.

Oscar - The metrosexual guy who wears glasses and suits that still allow his blended neck tattoos to creep above his collar, thereby making him all the more baddassed. He spends the book being the "secretary" of the group, always on his iPad, making the plans set by the leader happen.

Callum- the "Vice President", just about equal in looks and status as the leader, a bit lighter in attitude, a bit more fun, drives a "classic Camaro". He has blood red hair cut short on the sides but long on the top.

It is very easy to see each guy as a member of some baddassed boy group. Like I said, I am not in the demographics. Keeping them all so unrealistic just keeps me from taking the book too seriously.

Then you have the heroine, Bernadette Blackbird. She has long white-blonde hair with pink highlights? Ends? Not sure, but there is a lot of pink with the white. Bernadette's figure is 38-28-40 with, and I am not kidding size "G" boobs. She's just 17. She spends the book making sure we all know how baddassed she and the guys are, all the while making sure that we know that they are all poor as dirt, and don't care about the future, that stealing is her only way of getting anything decent.

So, yeah. I got tired of the whole not caring about the future, so why care about what we do today. I got tired of the whole, “make way for our baddasseness” scenes.

Now, I have to say that the sex scenes and tension between the characters was pretty good. IF I was able to forget that they are just kids.

Yet...yet....I couldn’t stop reading. I just have to read this series to the end. ( )

More!

Havoc stirs up the pot on enemies to lovers and high school romances. No flowers and silk sheets for Havoc. Think cigarettes and rough walls.

I finished this book and nearly cried when I found out that the rest of the series hadn’t been released yet.

Havoc feels like an appetiser for The Havoc Boys series. Totally tasty in a literary sense. My whistle is whet. Counting down the days until Chaos and Mayhem are released. ( )
