Like with some of the other books in this series, this one started off kind of slow. But the ending kept me on the edge of my seat! This series is so much fun. I love the team/family vibe going on. I love how they're collecting other members along the way and they only add to the team. I know the last book is coming and there's probably the biggest battle to date. I don't know if I'm ready! I have such an emotional tie to everyone. I'm not going to want to see it end. Whew, that was a ride. Alexis and Kieran must expand their forces prior to the magical summit, and it doesn't exactly go as hoped. In each struggle, though, we continue to see their family pull their strengths as one to overcome. I loved the new characters we met (well, most of them, in any case), and how we saw the impact that our current inner circle has on outsiders. Waiting for the final book's release in a month's time is going to be torture. Each book in this series has been such a pleasure to read that I can't wait to see how it all comes to an end. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

One thing has become incredibly clear to Alexis and Kieran, if they hope to last in the arena of Demigods, they'll need a more robust defense team. They must take two incredibly dangerous journeys, seeking the prized talents other Demigods would kill for. Except, there is a reason other Demigods don't have these magical workers--they are as ruthless as they are dangerous, and the last thing they want is to be on a Demigod's team. If that isn't enough, Alexis has received an invitation from Demigod Lydia, the only Hades Demigod who hasn't openly declared war. She's talking like they could be allies, but those of Hades cannot be trusted. A trap is just as likely as a handshake. Still, it's a chance they must take. Any one of these trips could be their last, but to back down would be the most dangerous of all. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

However...
Special Snowflake alert the heroine who starts out being able to "see and talk to ghosts" ends up being an all-powerful "Soul Ripper mixed with Chaos Magic" by the last book. Also, she is one of those heroines who was poor and struggling but too proud to let anyone try and help her. She stuck to that mentality, and the one that had her balking at any attempt to "pretty" her up with designer clothes or trying to dress like a person who knows a modicom of fashion or makeup. The real independant type of heroine that most likely is written that way so readers don't think she is being bought, or selling out. I hate that. No one is like that in real life.
The hero is not quite insta-love, but he is very persistant to get the heroine to work for him in the first book, going very far to get her. She holds out because she can't see any way that her (being poor and independant) having anything to do with a Demigod (the big players in this world) could only end with trouble.
Also, get used to the word "Demigod". It is used as a prefix to the hero's name, and anyone else who is a demigod in the book (of which there are more than a few).
So the series is pretty good, it has its drawbacks, but binging it will make it much better than reading it book by book over a couple of years.
