a quick 30 minute read after I got babygirl to sleep at 2:30 am last night. very much still in 4th trimester so my reviews aren't going to be super detailed sorrrrrry but "oof, it me" all around. (

Graphic novel memoirist Lucy Knisley collects cartoons of her child's first year, celebrating the joys and trials of parenthood. It is very much cartoons, easy to page through in less than an hour, with very little reading involved. Still as fun and true a read as I would've expected from her. (

A fairly slight but enjoyable collection of comics about parenting a new baby. This would make a cute baby shower gift. If you've enjoyed Knisley's other works, particularly Kid Gloves, it's worth a quick read. (

My kiddo was born right around the time Lucy Knisley's baby was born, and reading her pregnancy and parenting cartoons meant a lot to me. Almost 5 years later they are quite a look back on those amazing, awful early days. I love how she unapologetically captures the bad along with the good. (
