"As an intelligence agent-turned-courthouse janitor, Paul McGrath notices everything and everyone--but no one notices him. It's the perfect cover for the justice he seeks for both his father and the people who've been wronged by a corrupt system. Now McGrath has discovered a missing file on Alex Pardew--the man who defrauded and likely murdered his father but avoided conviction, thanks in large part to the loss of this very file. And what lies behind its disappearance is even worse than McGrath had feared. Meanwhile, at the courthouse, McGrath stumbles onto the case of Len Hendrie, a small businessman who's been accused of torching a venture capitalist's mansion in Westchester. Hendrie admits to starting the fire, but then McGrath learns how the investor has preyed on average Joes to benefit himself--and his extensive wine collection. McGrath can't resist looking deeper into this financial predator, and he soon finds himself in a grey area between his avenging moral compass and the limits of the law. Then, just as the Hendrie case is heating up, McGrath receives word of the death of his father's former housekeeper, sending him back to his family home to confront unfinished business from his past. And he's about to find some unwelcome truths about the mother he lost as a child--and the father who hid even more secrets than he realized"--… (plus d'informations)

This was a fast paced action novel. I liked the characters but could use a little more development especially Robson. The action was missing a little, nothing ever seemed to go wrong. Will I get the next installment? Yes I will. ( )

Paul McGrath took a job as a janitor in the courthouse so he could find out what happened to his father. Along the way he picks up odd jobs helping the less fortunate.
This book is fast paced with well rounded characters and a satisfying ending. Enough twist and turns to keep your attention. Can' t wait for the third installment to come out.

I received this from LibraryThing Early Reviewers for an honest review. ( )

When Paul McGrath, former military intelligence officer, learns his father’s murderer has been released due to missing evidence, he takes a job at the courthouse to find the file and get some justice. And help a wronged man along the way.

Grant’s story is certainly entertaining, with a plot that keeps moving. It’s not without flaws, though - gadgets that miraculously hack computers, overly competent agents, too many subplots. In spite of that, Too Close To Home would make a excellent beach read. ( )

Thank you librarything.com for sending an advanced reader’s copy of Too Close to Home by Andrew Grant in return for my honest review.

In fairness, this is not my usual genre and I did not read the first book in the series. The story held my attention, but there were too many characters to keep track of and the story became more and more unrealistic as it progressed. ( )

Paul McGrath has the best undercover job to find evidence on his father's former partner and the man who defrauded his father. See McGrath is hiding in plane site as a janitor in a court house as he looks for a missing evidence file that disappeared resulting the case against the man being thrown out. Filled with twists and turns this is a good read. ( )
