Overthinking ... to this author, it seems to be mainly a woman issue and she primarily talks to women. It bugged me a little but I quit overthinking that aspect, and eagerly dug into the book to find lots of nuggets of wisdom. I especially liked making decisions based on your values ... and making the mundane more routine. I've long adopted a routine for my wardrobe ... meals I'm working on. I've heard this point many times before ... but hearing that people have basically the same meal every day. Crazy. Crazy Brilliant. Anne Bogel has one of the most soothing voices ever, so the audiobook of this was good for calming down and set the perfect stage for the book itself. I feel as though it was a wonderful mashup of many self-help books as it really reduced them well to the essence needed in order to work on overthinking. Don't Overthink It .... This should be something I say to myself every day! Anne Bogel has taken a topic and broken it down so that everyone can learn and apply the lessons she is teaching. I find myself overthinking, especially on the little decisions. For example what to have for dinner. I struggle with this decision EVERY DAY! The easiest solution to this is to plan out my meals at the beginning of the week, that way when Tuesday rolls around I am not questioning myself...do I take out chicken, or pork chops? It's a silly problem but I overthink it, and make it bigger than it needs to be. Anne has given me many tools to stop this way of thinking, and they are already working! I received a digital copy of this book from @readbakerbooks and @netgalley in exchange for my review. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

We've all been there: stuck in a cycle of what-ifs, plagued by indecision, paralyzed by the fear of getting it wrong. Nobody wants to live a life of constant overthinking, but it doesn't feel like something we can choose to stop doing. It feels like something we're wired to do, something we just can't escape. But is it? Anne Bogel's answer is no. Not only can you overcome negative thought patterns that are repetitive, unhealthy, and unhelpful, you can replace them with positive thought patterns that will bring more peace, joy, and love into your life. In Don't Overthink It, you'll find actionable strategies that can make an immediate and lasting difference in how you deal with questions both small-Should I buy these flowers?-and large-What am I doing with my life? More than a book about making good decisions, Don't Overthink It offers you a framework for making choices you'll be comfortable with, using an appropriate amount of energy, freeing you to focus on all the other stuff that matters in life.
