I'm of two minds on this book. It was interesting to read, but parts I feel went on for too long (especially in the middle) and I did feel like the payout didn't quite make up for it. The narrative style is quite interesting and of the sort that the puzzle minded would enjoy, as little details come up that hint at what might really be going on. Harrow presents and unreliable perspective and squaring what happens in this book with what happens in Gideon can make for a lot of speculation. (Take that as an indication that if you haven't read Gideon the Ninth, do that first before starting this one.) The climax was good, but I felt the denouement was something of a let down. Leaving off any spoilers, the sort of thing I was hoping for didn't happen and that somewhat speared my interest in the continuing story. The end does set us up for the third book, with several questions left open. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
