In the quiet village of Heyford Bassett in the Cotswolds the life of Monica Noble, vicar's wife is about to change. Living in one of the converted flats that was once the Vicarage, her family are sharing the building with a murderer. Soon the body of one of the residents will be discovered. Will this one be the only one. DCI Jason Dury and DS Jim Greer investigate with the unexpected help of the Nobles.
An enjoyable well-written cozy mystery with its likeable characters. This is a good solid start to this series.

As other reviewers have said, written a bit in the style of an Agatha Christie novel, rather old-fashioned in style. The plot is set in a small Cotswold village, in a converted old Vicarage where a resident is shot dead and all the other residents are suspects and have various secrets. The plot is cleverly worked but the characters a bit stereotyped. ( )

Diabolical! It was very easy to figure out who the murder victim was going to be, but nearly every character had reason enough. Well, except for the vicar and the vicar's wife. During a somewhat impromptu garden party on the grounds of the former vicarage turned apartment building the blast of a shotgun is heard, but the body is found in an apartment that is being painted and decorated pre sale. The only things more prevalent than suspects are the red herrings and plot twists! I read it on one hot day and loved it!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Joffe Books via NetGalley. Thank you! ( )
