the berenstain bears are getting on each others nerves. eventually they work it out and make up over their silly fight.

The moral of the story is that you shouldn’t stay mad when you don’t have to. Even though we all have bad days we shouldn’t take it out on the ones that we love. I think that this is a wonderful children’s book because of the characters and plot. The characters well developed because they really show what some may call a typical family. It allows children to relate to how they may feel when they are at home with their family and it even discusses typical issues that siblings may have such as hurrying up in the bathroom, arguing over the remote, and name calling. The plot is set up beautifully, it starts with how much the family loves each other, flows into them having a conflict over getting ready in the morning, and ends with them making up because they realize that loving each other is better than fighting with each other. ( )

It's a great book to read for children, especially at the ages of 3-6, when they start playing with each other, but aren't sure of how to fight and make up afterwards. I enjoy reading this book to my students every once in a while because it teaches them that it's ok to have some off days, as long as they can make it up at the end of the day. It teaches them that not all families are perfect, and it doesn't have to be.
