I think that the message in this story was to show how event happen in sequence. I had mixed feelings about this books because I liked the rhyming and how it was a silly story but I did not like the pictures in the story. There could appear spooky to a child and make the book not as fun as it should be. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

The old lady keeps swallowing small things and they get bigger, “I know an old lady who swallowed a cat. She swallowed a cat? Imagine that!” She then continues, “I know an old lady who swallowed a horse poor old lady! She died, of course. I liked the repetition that she uses, “I guess she’ll die” until they get to the biggest animal mentioned horse-last page shows a grave when it says that she dies. I also liked how he words got bigger as the things that she swallowed go larger as well.
I thought this was a silly story that’s fun of kids and they can see what’s small animal compared to a big one. ( )
