We're talking the next best thing to Superman. In the middle of Chapter 2, after having killed an alien polar bear on steroids and then 2 bounty hunters, with his hands cuffed behind him, back to the third mercenary “…one minute his quarry was standing in front of him, and the next, he had sprung into the air and backward somersaulted over the stunned mercenary. In the process, he simultaneously dislocated his shoulders and his wrists. One freed hand came around in an arc to smack the weapon out of Toomb’s hands. The other caught it before it had flipped halfway to the ground.”

The persona of the archetypal cowboy….slow walking, slow talking, no pulled punches…but in outer space. You can’t do better than that in a Sci-fi adventure story.

Managed to keep my husband's attention, which means it was pretty good! He said it went into much greater depth than the movie, and was much easier to understand. ( )
