1, 2, 3, Who's Cleaning the Sea? A Counting Picture Book About Protecting Our Planet Seven and eight, is it too late? Not quite yet, but let's not wait! 8 fishing nets on the ocean floor, dragged by an octopus up to the shore. The sea creatures are working hard to clean their living environment of ocean pollution. Inspired by powerful visuals of ocean pollution, this book will teach your child not only numbers and how to count but also the importance of taking care of our environment. Children will love learning how little changes they make can protect our planet. 1,2,3, Who's Cleaning the Sea is the second book from award-winning and Amazon best-selling author Janina Rossiter in her 'concept picture book' series. Janina Rossiter has again combined two subjects with imaginative drawings, resulting in a beautiful book that children and adults will enjoy reading. This picture book will teach your child to associate numbers with their quantities while also learning about the importance of keeping plastics and other pollutants out of our oceans. Younger children will be able to count along and slightly older children (ages 4-6) will learn to make logical connections between numbers and facts. Readers of all ages will enjoy the pictures, the story, and the message. The original hand-drawn illustrations in black ink marker on a background of acrylic art are exquisite and will entice young readers to turn the pages as they discover the fascinating world captured by the illustrator's imagination. Filled with glorious paintings, this highly imaginative picture book will not only aid children with learning to count, they will also learn about protecting the environment as they take a journey under the sea. Truly delightful. 1,2, 3, Who's Cleaning the Sea is a cute counting book for children that is environmentally friendly!

This book uses cleaning the ocean of cotton buds, cups and other garbage as a teaching tool. The pictures are very blue and well drawn as well! I like that this unique idea is being used for a picture book. It's nice to see something to prominent like cleaning the ocean (and our environment) in a book like this! Why not kill two birds with one stone?

I did think it was a tad bit cheesey, but it's a children's book so it's expected. The important message of cleaning the world together and recycling really tied the book up too!

I'd definitely recommend reading this as a picture book to your youngings. It's a sweet little picture book that has a really strong and important message. Be a hero, not a zero!

Four out of five stars!

I found this book on Bookbub! ( )

Clever animals of the sea help each other by cleaning plastics and trash that is polluting their ocean home.

Simple verses and detailed art help make a sweet and motivating story of life helping life. Animals making there home a better place by getting rid of the plastics and trash us humans have unfortunately left. This book teaches various themes like counting, how to be neat and to be kind to the living world.

Our environment needs help not just the animals but the land and aquatic areas too. Yes, this book may have the animals of the sea cleaning our mess which is probably unrealistic and silly but the feeling is there. The message of the book is that one voice can start a movement but more than one can make that change happen. At least that is what I take from it.

I enjoyed this sweet book and it lights a little flame within to fight for our world to be a better place. ( )

Part of the “informational children’s picture book” genre gaining popularity, this counting book with ocean-saving message will be a big hit with young listeners/readers. Making learning about complicated issues fun is the goal, and, with a clever rhyming scheme and pictures that pop, this one does an outstanding job! The title as question and making sea creatures the cleanup crew join to teach about counting, about both sea creatures and plastic debris, and the book ends with what humans can do. Packing this triple whammy in a lilting rhythm means it’s bound to be a favorite of parents, teachers—and kids! A delight to read (scans perfectly!), engaging to look at, it’s an all-around top-notch new kidlit book!

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and am voluntarily writing an honest review. ( )

I actually won a Mobi.file copy of this book from the author through a giveaway she had on LibraryThing and the following is my honest opinion.

My inner-child has always loved reading the adventures of this author’s educational Tovi the Penguin series of books, and this book has proven itself just as educational, even more so when you consider the environmental message it desires to communicate to its youngest of readers, that of regarding the pollution of our oceans with tons upon tons of plastic garbage. And that it will take everyone, just as all the sea creatures in this book, working together, in doing our small part, to help clean the ocean back to the way it once was.

Adding to the charm of this book, besides the illustrations, is the manner Ms. Rossiter uses a rhyming scheme to tell the story. As a child, my young mind couldn’t resist reading any book by Dr. Seuss over and over again, because of the captivating nature of the rhyme being used, which grabbed and held my attention. Moms you must remember reading The Cat in the Hat as a child, a story which you might still remember bits and pieces of even today; so why not give your child the same sort of reading experience which at the same time communicates a very important message. And it is because of this that my inner-child and myself have given Ms. Rossiter and her book 5 STARS, ( )

A counting book focused on cleaning trash out of the ocean, where even the sea creatures are doing their part. A reminder to keep trash away.
Beautiful illustrations with rhyming text.
Counting is good for little ones, as well as learning to identify the animals. ( )
