I enjoyed this story but only give it 3-1/2 stars because it was one of those edgy books where you are just waiting for the other shoe to fall. She had amnesia and didn't know who to trust and you just knew she was going to make the wrong choice. And she did. It was nice though to see the hero absolutely refuse to give up and just keep coming back to try to convince her that they love each other, no matter how he got beat up by her father's goons. Still it was a good read. I like Sally Wentworth's stuff. ( )

Not bad for an early category romance.

The first 1/3 when Sam awakens with no memory and she and her husband, Mike, have to survive together on an uninhabited island is great. Mike and Sam have great chemistry and their romance is intense. The fade to black scenes are disappointing. but then this is an older work.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book does not live up to the beginning as Sam learns who she really is and the conflicts begin emerging. There are one or two irritating moments as Sam is torn between the men in her life. One point that annoyed me no end was Sam readily accepting that her father had given her pills to cause a miscarriage.

Even though there is a HEA, the ending is rather abrupt and it is disappointing that Sam's father does not get his just desserts. ( )
